Freight Movement operates a purpose built warehouse, where we store goods ranging from foodstuffs through to garden furniture. The warehouse offers 35,500 SQ FT of high bay racked space which is maintained to the highest standards of quality and cleanliness.

Our warehouses are fully equipped with electric counter balance and electric reach trucks.

Warehouse trace and track is covered by a comprehensive stock system with bar code capabilities, weekly stock analysis and pick and pack reports.

We invest continuously in state of the art stock inventory systems that manage our inbound and outbound consignments. 

Our warehouse in Tregwilym Road has recently been inspected by Newport Borough Council Environmental Health Department, and we have been given a Food Standards Agency Rating of 5. This means that we have very good hygiene standards, that we are very good in the way that we handle food, that we are very good in the way that we store food, that we are very good in the cleanliness of our warehouse and that we are very good in the full range of how we manage the food stored here. 

Our warehouse in Tregwilym Road is now BRC Global Standard - Storage & Distribution Certified.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) is a trade association for the UK food retail industry created in 1992. The BRC has published standards for best practices for the food and manufacturing industries for two decades, and also publishes the On-Pack recycling standards for the UK. The BRC Global Food standard has been in existence since 1998, and in 2000 was the first food safety standard to be recognized by the GFSI organization, which means the standard meets their “benchmark” criteria for acceptance. The standard is designed as a “total quality management” program, and includes both food safety requirements and quality requirements which food manufacturers must meet in order to be certified.

BRC Global Standard – Storage and Distribution

The BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution is designed to establish best practice requirements for the maintenance of product safety and quality during the storage and distribution of products from manufacturers to the end user, retailer or caterer. The standard is equally applicable for food products, consumer products and packaging materials.

Standard Requirements:

  • Hazard and Risk Analysis System
  • Quality Management Systems – Based on the principles of ISO 9000 and including product traceability and recall management
  • Senior Management Commitment and Continual improvement
  • The site environment and operating standards – including maintenance, cleaning and pest control, product handling and where applicable temperature controls
  • Vehicle Operating Standards
  • Facility Management
  • Good Operating Practices
  • Personnel – including the training and personal hygiene requirements for the staff
